Josefhine Cooksey came to Texas from Sweden and learned to tattoo the long way: a full apprenticeship, in the shop she now co-owns. She works in American traditional and illustrative blackwork — elegant lady heads, florals, folk and occult imagery, and a steady run of things that are simply cute and colorful. Heavy black, clean color, bold lines drawn by hand for the body they're going on. Built to still read across a room in forty years. Outside the shop she's usually hiking with her dogs, at the pottery wheel, or in a Krav Maga class.
